St. Jeezy!

Dahl planned a little getaway for us a few weekends ago. We went to St. George and Las Vegas. It was so fun! Friday night I left a little early from work so we could get to Tuacahn on time to see Aladdin. It was amazing, of course. I am so in love with Tuacahn!

Saturday, we laid out by the pool for the morning. We went to lunch at a Mexican place called Irmita's which was amazing!

I thought this was funny- Very Spicy- Hot (We are not responsible), Medium- Hot (Comes with a kick, but not out the door), and Wimpy- Mild (It's okay, we're not looking)

More Sombreros- Just for kicks!

That night we went to Vegas! We went to the top of the Stratosphere and watched people go on terrifying rides like jumping off of it, which seems completely insane!

Dahl and I are both super afraid of heights, but I think we learned something about what kind of heights bothers us. For example, being at the top of the Stratosphere, which is so ridiculously high, does not bother me at all. It is the likelihood of falling that really does it for me. I am way more afraid of, say, climbing on a rock that is kind of high, but not that high, that I have the potential to fall off of from my own clumsiness, than being up intensely high in a safe building. But the exact opposite is true for Dahl. He loves to be high up because of the view, but he is way more tripped out by it than I am. And when we climbed on the red rocks (stay tuned for that), I was more of a scaredy- cat than he was. Interesting, huh?

Notice how he has to hold on to the binoculars... yeah. Haha.

We also went to the Rio Cafe, which was ridiculously delicious and expensive... next time we will definitely be going, but we will also definitely be getting a coupon!

Sunday we relaxed by the pool and went to the red rocks for some quick exploring. Next time we will DEFINITELY be going back for more! It was SO fun!

Then, we got some more great Mexican food, and drove home.

On the way home, we stopped at a gas station that had a random petting zoo! It was pretty awesome.

The little lambs were so cuddly!

No big deal, just a cow, two llamas, and a zebra all hanging out in the same cage...

All in all, we had such a fun time!! Sometimes getting away is the perfect solution to all of your worries!

Birthday! Birthday! Coming to Earth Day!

Sooo Dahl and I are almost birthday buddies! This year, mine was Sunday (May 20) and his was Monday (May 21)! I love having our birthdays so close together! Then we each get our days but we can have a fun-filled weekend together! Plus, this year I went a little crazy with birthday coupons... like I signed up for about 40 different clubs, half of them to restaurants I never go to, just to get some free birthday treats!

All wet from the Bumper Boats!

My birthday was mostly a lot of family time! Dahl made me a delicious cake (chocolate with chocolate frosting and cream cheese frosting in the middle), and we had lunch with the Lowe's (cousin's in law- one of them, Larissa, is my birthday buddy!), and went to dinner at Sarah's (Dahl's sister)! One of my favorite parts was when I walked into my Primary class and they all sang me Happy Birthday! How cute is that?! I love them : ) even though teaching by myself is driving me a little bit more than crazy... hopefully I get a new partner soon! I also got to talk to my cute family, and Dahl gave me a CRUISE! (It was actually our birthday present from both of us to each other, but Dahl did all the research and we are going in October.) We are PUMPED!! We also gave each other cards and I followed this idea and gave Dahl 25 balloons with people's messages on them! If I did it again, I would DEFINITELY have people put the notes inside on a piece of paper, because it sure did get messy! Still fun, though! (Don't worry, we bought a balloon pump so we didn't get all germed up!)

Batter Up!!

Dahl's birthday was the funnest! We found this deal for Boondock's where if it is your birthday you get a free  unlimited pass! AND even better, if your birthday is on a Sunday, you can use it the next day too! So we both got in for free!! We rode the Go-Karts (and I totally dominated!), rode the bumper boats, used our free arcade tokens, went to the batting cages, and had an awesome time!! Then we went to Chuck-a-Rama (for free! Thanks Sarah!).

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner :)

Basically, we made out like bandits!! I love birthdays :) Especially when I get to spend them with my love!
